Every service has one purpose: to identify the cause of the problem and, where the tooth can be predictably preserved, to keep it. Choose a page to read what it involves, when it is recommended and what to expect.
Removes irreversibly inflamed or infected pulp, cleans and disinfects the root canal system, and allows the natural tooth to be retained where its condition permits.
About this treatmentWhen a previously treated tooth becomes painful or develops a new or persistent infection, retreatment allows the root canal system to be reassessed, cleaned and sealed again.
About this treatmentA dental operating microscope provides high magnification and focused illumination, helping to identify narrow, additional or difficult-to-see canals.
About this treatmentRoot-end surgery (apicectomy) under the microscope for infection that persists after conventional treatment, or where retreatment through the crown is not appropriate.

Book an appointmentHow it works
Whether you come to us through your dentist or directly, the first appointment is an assessment: history, examination, cold and bite tests, and radiographs where needed. You leave with a written plan that sets out the diagnosis, the recommended treatment, the likely prognosis of the tooth and the fee. Treatment is booked only once you are happy with the plan. Read more about the diagnostic consultation.
If your dentist has already looked at the tooth, we review their findings at your first visit and let them know if ours differ. If you are in pain now, tell us when you call — our guide to the signs of an infected tooth explains which symptoms should be seen promptly.
